Your files are yours. We hold them only as long as it takes to do the work you asked for, we do not train on them, and we do not share them.

Your files remain your own

You keep everything you upload and everything we return. We claim no license over your images or video beyond what running the job requires, and nothing you send is used to train, tune or evaluate a model.

How long we keep things

Uploads are deleted one day after they arrive. Results are deleted seven days after they are produced. These are the real lifetimes on the storage bucket, not a promise to get round to it — once the window passes the object is gone, including for us. Download anything you want to keep before then.

Two things you ask for are the exception, and they are the only ones: a result you tell us to keep, and an image you submit to the gallery. Both are described below. Everything you have not asked us to keep is on the schedule above.

Results you ask us to keep

You can ask us to keep any finished result. We copy it — and the original you uploaded, if it has not already expired — to storage that no deletion schedule applies to. It stays there until you remove it. There is no expiry to wait for and no renewal to forget, which also means it does not quietly disappear the way an ordinary result does.

It is a copy. The ordinary result still expires after seven days; keeping one adds an object rather than rescuing one. You can delete a kept result from your dashboard at any time, and deleting it is the only way it goes away.

You do not have to wait for the schedule. From your dashboard you can delete every picture of a finished job at once — the upload, the result, any kept copy, and the copies the gallery holds if you shared it, which takes it off the gallery too. The job stays in your history with what it cost; its pictures are gone from the moment you confirm.

Submitting a result to the gallery publishes both images — what you uploaded and what came back — to everyone signed in to CraterView.ai. We copy both at the moment you submit, so what is on the page is fixed then and cannot be changed by later work on your account. Those copies have no deletion schedule either.

A person reviews every submission before it appears. That is the one place a human being looks at an image you sent us, and it happens only because you asked for it to be published. Nothing is visible to anyone else while it waits, and a submission that is declined is never shown.

You can withdraw a submission at any time, published or not. It disappears from the page immediately and the copies we made for it are deleted. Your own result and any kept copy are untouched — withdrawing from the page is not deleting your work.

What outlives the file is the job record: its id, which model ran, when, whether it succeeded and what it cost. That is what the dashboard shows you and what your credit balance is derived from. It does not contain the image.

What we hold about you

Opening a workspace takes no email and no card. Until you sign in, the account behind it is a temporary one and the only thing tying it to you is your browser session. When you upgrade and sign in, we hold the email address your identity provider gives us.

How we handle your files

Your files move between you and our storage provider on short-lived signed links, and never travel through our API. The machine that runs your job fetches your file, does the work, writes the result back, and keeps nothing.

Private does not mean unexamined, and the difference is worth stating plainly. An automated check runs over every image while its job is running. It records a single flag against that job and nothing else. Nothing is refused because of it, no person is shown your file because of it, and it is never used to train anything.

A person looks at one of your images in a single case, and it is one you ask for. An image submitted to the gallery is read by a person before it is published; a submission is the only thing that puts your work in front of one.
